There are two ways you can run a process in the Designer View: in-situ and create process run. You must have at least Executor permissions in order to run a process.
In-situ is an ideal solution if you want to debug your process while you're designing it.
Create process run functionality creates a snapshot of a process. Each process run (snapshot) contains it's own files uploaded to the process before the process run is created. This is useful for audit/historical purposes and usually is being used for production process utilization.
While the process is running the steps have different states. You can differentiate step statuses by icons and colors.
How to run a process in-situ
1. Open the process.
2. Click on the Play button on the process group layout.
3. The process will start running shortly. The play button will start spinning.
How to stop a process running in-situ
1. Open the process.
2. Click on the Stop button on the process group layout.
3. The process will stop running shortly.
